Showcased drone and AI-enabled LSM solutions
SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Japan; Founder & CEO: Yosuke Kaneko; hereafter “SORA Technology”), which provides advanced drone and AI solutions across public health, agriculture, and climate resilience, announced that SORA Technology was privileged to be invited as the technical partner for a two-day regional workshop on technology-enabled Larval Source Management (LSM) aimed at strengthening malaria control strategies across Africa

The workshop was organized by National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) Ghana in Accra, the capital city of Ghana, and convened representatives from 12 countries*, alongside key stakeholders including the Ministry of Health Ghana, Ghana Health Service, the World Health Organization (WHO) Ghana, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Embassy of Japan in Ghana, the Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC), the AngloGold Ashanti Malaria Control (AGAMAL), the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, and other partners committed to advancing malaria elimination efforts. (Ghana, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Mali, Benin, Tanzania, South Sudan, and Zimbabwe).
As part of the technical sessions and field demonstrations, SORA Technology showcased its drone and AI-enabled solutions designed to enhance the precision, efficiency, and scalability of LSM operations.
During the initiative, SORA Technology:
– Deployed drones for high-resolution mapping of intervention areas
– Conducted AI-driven risk classification to identify and prioritize mosquito breeding sites
– Provided geospatial navigation support to guide spray teams directly to mapped water bodies
– Implemented drone-based larvicide spraying, demonstrating improved precision in application and targeted coverage
The demonstration illustrated how technology-enabled LSM can reduce operational inefficiencies, improve targeting accuracy, and strengthen evidence-based decision-making for national malaria programmes.
SORA Technology remains committed to supporting governments and partners across Africa with innovative, data-driven solutions that contribute to sustainable malaria control and elimination.
